I am literally kicking myself in the butt for not starting the Harry Potter Series earlier. As you've probably heard me say across all of my social media platforms. [guiltily giggles] J.K. Rowling is a genius.
The Prisoner of Azkaban was a grand book. For the sake of not spoiling things I will start off by saying that there is A LOT of mystery involved. You've got studious, over achiever, smarty pants Hermione Granger taking an IMPOSSIBLE amount of classes... and you keep wondering how she's getting there. Add her cat Crookshanks always getting into some kind of mischief and Hermione has her plate completely FULL.
Harry Potter along with the rest of Hogwarts Wizarding School are dealing with the fact that Sirius Black escaped Azkaban; and SHOCKER [he's after "Harry"] or so we think. [clever smirk] With another year of Quddich to live up to Harry gives his undivided attention and focus to winning the Quiddich Cup as the Seeker from the Griffindor House.
Ron Weasley can't seem to catch a break where his "pet" rat Scabbers is involved. Actually, Ron Weasley NEVER seems to catch a break PERIOD; although he had his few moments of shining glory which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have a soft spot for Ron.
I love the character dynamics throughout this book, the new faculty members [Hagrid + Professor Lupin], as well as Malfoy getting a taste of his own medicine multiple times. I definitely didn't get the ending that I was expecting, which turned out to be because there is an awesome plot twist in the midst of this book.
Lastly, Dumbledore is just the bomb dot comb. Every SINGLE time you think he can't get any cooler, smarter, sneakier, and just down right low key humorous; he does. I have to say he's my favorite character so far.
I am looking forward to beginning The Goblet of Fire, and letting you in on my thoughts on it.
