It took me what feels like forever to get into this book. I feel like City of Bones was slow to get going also, then City of Ashes was super fast paced only to be taken down a notch when it came to City of Glass. I'm not saying that any of these books were bad by any means... because let's face it we all know they're fantastic. It just took a while to get into it.
In City of Ashes my whole world was shattered by the secret that was revealed about Clary and Jace and I knew it had to be a mistake. I am team Jace all the way. There were a lot of details put into this book, and so many turning points that my jaw was constantly dropping.
In the third installment of The Mortal Instruments series we pick up with Clary's mother being in a coma state, Simon being a vampire who can walk in the daylight, Jace and Clary in their same debacle, and a couple of new faces were added. We get to finally read about Iridis... this place we've heard so many wonderful things about.
Valentine is as usual plotting something big, and he's on the verge of being successful in what he plans. So many secrets are revealed in this book, they blew my mind every time. Cassandra Clare is a master at keeping her readers on their toes, I know I was. This was a very delightful and enjoyable read and I am excited to see what City of Fallen Angels has to offer.
