Appearances. Appearances. Appearances. They seem to contribute to a lot of things. They contribute to what people think of you and how you feel about yourself. They also show to other people what kind of person you think you are, how you are are feeling, what kind of mood you're in.

Mostly everything. People, especially when fishing for a significant others are for the most part firstly drawn in by looks and appearance and then get to know the person behind those looks.

While appearances are some what important, I, myself have tried to stop judging people based on their appearances. Someone may have a really good heart and an amazing personality and you'll never get to see that because you're too busy judging.

I do take pride in my own appearance but some people don't and that's okay too. That doesn't make me, you, or anyone else any better.

Many factors have to do with the way someone looks and presents themselves. Whether it be because they're rich, poor, don't have much money, have a lot of money... or whatever. I've come to realize that it's all so shallow and superficial to just care about appearances and when I began not to care so much about mine I became happier.

Little things like not wearing as much make-up has made me a much happier person, but it could have been the opposite as well and still have been totally okay. It's all up to you. There are those days where I just feel like dressing up and being special and then there are days (WHICH IS MOST DAYS) where I just feel like being laid back and simple.

It's just time to put aside shallow and judgmental things and look deeper than that. Look deeper than the surface, because that's what really defines a person.

I used to be one of those girls that made fun of other girls clothes and such when I was younger, and looking back, that disgusts me. Now when I see someone my age being that superficial and shallow I really want to give them a piece of my mind. We're all human and no human deserves to be made fun of. I'm not saying I haven't been guilty of this myself, hell I'm human too... I just want to make more of a conscious effort to change this, because at the end of the day I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and be proud of who I am.

It's time to change a few of my set ways. Change is good.
