Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites. He's the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Owned by this dark side, Rhage fears the time when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him.
Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant to Rhage's protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. She lost her faith in miracles years ago. But when Rhage's intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves...
Book #2 pleased me as much as the first one did. Hell this one was a little more touching in my opinion. Rhage is the best looking of all of the brothers which is what earned him the nickname "Hollywood". He looks like a movie star but is the deadliest brother you could pick a fight with... other than Zsadist which is a whole other story. When Rhage gets too angry, worked up, or aroused, the beast comes out. A very scary sight as the brothers like to phrase it.
Mary is a fighter. She lost her father when she was younger, and then lost her mother to cancer... only to develop cancer herself. She's never thought of herself as beautiful, and often wished that a man would even show a little interest in her.
The night Mary and Rhage met was like firecrackers exploding... intense stuff. They are both alike in the sense that they both don't feel like they deserve one another. Their story was so touching because you got to see a softer side of Rhage... and Mary truly brought out the best in him.
They go through a lot of trials and tough situations which has you rooting for them ten times harder. I felt connected to these characters as if they were real people. If I were you I would definitely pick this book up... along with being touching it's scorching hot, full of action, fighting, oh and humor.
J.R. Ward is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Please let me know if you've read any of the BDB series... I love comments and reply to every singe one. Thank you for stopping by and reading my review, I hope you come back soon.
